Entombed

Stengade 30, Copenhagen - 2008

Headlining this night was Swedish death-metal veterans and pioneers Entombed. The Burning had done a good job setting the mood for the evening, and when Entombed entered the stage people were all warmed up and ready to go. Without much further ado the band went at it, starting off with the title track from their new album, Serpent Saints.
The set was tight and fast, and there wasn't left much place for a breather in between songs or for L.G. Petrov (vocals) to say something wise. This actually worked very well though, since the audience had their minds set to really give it their all. There was thrashing going on, stage diving, and circle pits forming, dissolving, and starting up again in new places.

Sadly, the sound was far from perfect, at least where I was standing, and I think you really had to know the songs sometimes to fully appreciate what it was they were playing.
Don't let this negative remark fool you though, for it was great seeing Entombed again, and they gave a good show. Afterwards, they stuck around for a bit just to hang out with the crowd, and that is something that gives extra points, at least in my book.
