Biohazard

"Welcome to an evening with Biohazard. This place is so small, it feels so intimate. Like playing in my living-room. Oh look, there's even a fish tank!"
- Bobby Hambel (guitar)(writers note: yes, there is a large fish tank at KB over in one corner)
"We should call it dinner with Biohazard. We give a dinner and a show."
- Evan Seinfeld (vocals/bass)
Thanks to the guys of Hårda Tider (one of the support bands) we were given the fantastic opportunity to relive the amazing show we had witnessed in Pumpehuset, Copenhagen the night before. For that, we are them forever grateful.
So then, was it as good as the day before?
No, sadly not. But don't get me wrong here; it was still an absolutely amazing kick-ass show Biohazard delivered. I think the main difference was the fact that the crowd was smaller here, and much less of a participant with only a few people going amok, and the main body of the audience merely standing and listening. This is good too of course, but the way the Danish crowd had behaved was, for me, much more in tune with the way a real Biohazard show should be, and definitely one such as this; with such a setlist and these guys in their original form on stage!
And I also think it was in some ways the surprise the day before that had helped as well; there we had gone in without any real expectations, and this time around the expectations where turned way(!) up since the last one had been so incredible.
Other than that, the two shows resembled each other pretty much in their form. Once again we were told the anecdote about a man taking the train to work every day where he wrote a poem (this was Bobby's father by the way) which inspired and led into the song Five Blocks To The Subway; a huge circlepit was encouraged for Wrong Side Of The Tracks and of course the (free will) mandatory sing-along for How It Is.
Also, like last time, for the last couple of songs Evan handed over bass duties to one of their stage-hands (and friends) for the last songs of the set, which gave him more elbow-room to dance around; still, once more the biggest credit goes to Bobby. I can't stress enough how cool it is to see him back on stage! And he really knows how to use it well; in KB there is a short runway from the middle of the stage which sticks out into the crowd (about a meter or so), and he frequently went out there to get close to the crowd, jumping, playing and shaking hands to everyone who was there.
Oh, and we should not forget either Billy Graziadei or Danny Schuler either, without whom the concert would not have been the same for sure; both displaying a very good mood and will to perform.
So, in conclusion; It was not a night as big as the one we had been treated to in Copenhagen, but again, this was in no way the bands fault as they lived up to every expectations (and surpassed) as you could possibly have, and I'm really happy I was around to witness such a once in a life-time experience... twice!
