The Haunted

The Rock, Copenhagen - 2008

Posing as the complete opposite to their support band, Slow Death Factory, the crowd went absolutely wild when Swedish The Haunted took the stage. A great old moshpit started out right at the get go, and it kept on swirling for the entirety of the show, a feat seldom seen as they tend to more or less die out a few songs into the set.
The band however, also a complete opposite of its predecessors, seemed to be having a very off night, delivering song after song, without any pauses for chitchat, almost as if they couldn't wait to get it over with. Rarely have I heard so many songs in such a short period of time, at least in a live situation.
This lightened up a (small) bit around the middle though, as Peter Dolving (vocals) was presenting a new song, apparently not previously played live, with an anecdote about an Israeli girl who called him a Nazi, when he had said we should let go off the past, and move on with our lives. On stage he called the new song something like Fuck You, but on the setlist they had written Moronic. I guess we'll see on the next album what it'll be.
As another gesture of good faith, Peter praised the Danish comedy show, Klovn (Clown), and made a hand-raise in the audience to see how many watched it. The answer was surprisingly few, I must say.

Still, in my opinion, The Haunted gave the weaker show of the evening, but looking out over the crowd, people loved it anyway.
