In Mourning

Karmøygeddon - 2012

The first band that I saw this weekend was In Mourning. This is a progressive death metal band from Sweden.

As I said previously, in the festival review, I was amazed at how good the sound was!
The band plays slow and melodic music, slightly similar to Opeth, therefore the first 3 tracks lasted almost 30 minutes, and then they played a fast and short track before one more 8 minute track before ending with a death melodic song.
The selection of titles was quite good and the 45 minutes of concert was very enjoyable.

The band performed well overall, but the drummer did have difficulties following the rhythm during some songs, and I really felt the lack of the female vocalist during the track that they played from the demo “Senseless” (not sure which one) [song not written down on their setlist – TN].

Other than that it was a great concert and a good way to start the weekend of festivities!

Setlist:

A Vow To Conquer The Ocean
The Smoke
Colossus
Amnesia
From A Tidal Sleep
