VOLBEAT ANNOUNCED AS THE FOURTH COPENHELL 2026 HEADLINER
Denmark’s biggest heavy rock band will visit the festival for the very first time next summer.
Welcome to this Friday’s edition of COPENHELL’s newsletter. We have bombarded you with band news these lasts few weeks, and we are not entirely done yet, as we have finally secured the 2026 festival’s fourth headliner with VOLBEAT!
Few bands have put Denmark on the global heavy music map like these heavyrockers – Denmark’s undisputed biggest heavy rock band! With their unique blend of crushing heaviness, rock’n’roll swagger and infectious melodies, they have created a sound that can ignite both stadiums and festival grounds.
From their early roots in Copenhagen’s underground scene to sold-out arenas across the world, VOLBEAT has grown into one of Denmark’s greatest musical export successes. With Michael Poulsen’s unmistakable vocals, raw riffs and epic choruses that fuse 50s rock’n’roll and punk with classic heavy metal, they deliver a live energy that sends audiences into pure ecstasy.
That’s why it’s such a huge moment for COPENHELL to present the band as the fourth and final headliner of COPENHELL 2026, says festival director Jeppe Nissen:
“At long last, we can present the country’s biggest rock band! This has been on our wish list for years, and now it’s finally happening. VOLBEAT has played all of the world’s biggest rock and metal festivals, and now it’s COPENHELL’s turn – we can’t wait!”
For frontman Michael Poulsen, the visit to COPENHELL 2026 marks a long-awaited return to the Danish festival crowd:
“We can’t wait! This will be our first festival show in Denmark in ten years, so it’s about time. I had the pleasure of playing COPENHELL with Asinhell in 2024, and that was a wonderful evening. We’d better dust off some of the old classics.”
VOLBEAT has performed all over the world and has earned no fewer than 143 gold and platinum certifications for album sales – with a total tally far beyond six million. They have grown from a cult phenomenon to a mainstream powerhouse, and their song For Evigt has long since become Danish cultural heritage. The band has headlined prestigious festivals such as Rock am Ring, Hellfest, Wacken, Download Festival and Sweden Rock – but they have not played at a Danish festival since 2016.
