One week before the start of the 2014 edition of the Metaldays we can announce, that we won't continue selling tickets via our platforms. On top of that we can present some interesting improvements, we can show you...

You made it! As the big family of Metalheads that we are, we will celebrate a party with 12.000 participators and spend an unforgettable week in Slovenia!
If you have the desire for dreamlike rivers in an idyllic environment and some of the greatest metal bands, you are spot-on in Tolmin! We are more than happy, because these fans make this festival what it is!
Now we ran out of tickets and this is why there won’t be any more tickets sold via our MH ticket shop, only a small amount of tickets will be sold exclusively in Slovenia via www.eventim.si and www.on-parole.com. There are also a few Metaldays bands left, who might have ticket left overs.
For all of you, who didn't/won't get a chance to buy a ticket to this year's festival, keep your eyes on the MH shop right after the festival! You’ll have the opportunity to buy the earliest bird ticket for next years festival for a fair price - about EUR 109,-. On site, we are going to sell these tickets at the merchandise stand on July 25th and 26th.

If some of you have a faible for photography and/or European history, this year’s Metaldays festival offers you a very special framework programme. Curious?
Exhibition „The Soča front 1915-1917“
For more than ten years people from all over Europe are gathering now once a year in Tolmin, to celebrate music, great holidays and have a great time with each other. 100 years ago, this scenery was completely unimaginable. The First World War had just started, bringing death and destruction over Europe, including Slovenia and the Soča valley. In rememberance of this event and in cooperation with the Tolmin museum, the city of Tolmin will host a photographic exhibition, consisting of photographic stories of three Austro-Hungarian soldiers, who were deployed in the Soča valley. The exhibition will take place at the entrance of the German ossuary, which is located directly beside the festival venue and will also be opened for visitors. The exhibition and the ossuary will be opened from Tuesday, July 22nd to Friday, July 25th, each day from 10am to 6pm.

But also the Metaldays festival itself will be the topic of an exhibition, organised by the Tolmin museum. During the whole festival (July 21st to July 26th, 9am to 6pm), pictures of the past festival editions can be seen in the museum and at other locations in the city centre. All photographs are the result of the last years’ photo sessions of the photographers Miha Koron, Miro Majcen, Rafael Marn, Simon Pelko, Maja Pucelj and Stipe Surać. The exhibition will be opened on Sunday, July 20th at 8pm in front of the Tolmin museum.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to become a part of the Metaldays photo exhibition in 2015! All amateur and professional photographers are invited to join the photographic competition of Metaldays 2014. With the competition we wish to gather and award the photographs that will be shot at this year’s Metaldays festival. You will find more info about the competition HERE.
Grossmann film festival
There has always been a connection between Metal and Horror on the deepest level, and there will always be. Horror finds its expression in our lyrics, in the gloominess of the sound, is engraved in a long-lasting tradition of beautifully crafted cover art or vividly transferred to the mimic and gesture, up to the very element, that plays the biggest role in breaking us Metalheads away from hipsters and other stiffs: voices beyond recognition of the human organ of speech.
With agonizing screams and the sinister voices of extra-dimensional demons we welcome our brothers and sisters from the rather visual side of all things Horror: Say hello to the GROSSMANN FANTASTIC FILM & WINE FESTIVAL! We are happy to announce, that these great guys will be going to screen a wise selection of rare classics on our 2nd Stage in Tolmin.
Together we will create a nightly tear in reality for us all to explore the unspeakable. Hails to Horror!
Get the brand-new Metaldays App
Many of you guys wondered, where our apps might be and if there will be any for 2014. The answer is of course yes, we just relaunched them in Play Store and iTunes. We started from scratch and made a totally new app for both platforms. Attention: there will be a new version out by the end of the week, which will bring you a further refined usability.
What’s new? Besides for the app to be smaller, more lightweight and more responsive, there is a very helpful new function: in the running order as well as in the a-z ordered lineup you can now add a band to your personal favourites list. For all your fave bands you will then receive a push notification 20 minutes before they will enter the stage. Never forget to join a gig from now on! Notification will tell you where and when your fave is going to play – in just the right moment for you get there in time. Better yet: once the app has loaded all festival data, this gig reminder will work even if you’re offline.
There is a torch function now, too, which is available for devices with a camera led light. In the info section you will find important stuff like Festival-ABC, FAQ and News. Short-term changes, weather warnings and important information that come up during the event will be pushed straight onto your notification bar. We remembered someone saying: “Don’t be evil” back in the days when there was a grain of ethics attached to our gadgets – so if you feel somehow tormented by our push notifications, you can always switch it off in the app’s settings. The iTunes app is still an earlier version and will be brought to actual state until the event.
