Metaldays for everyone

One of our main agendas at METALDAYS is to make the festival accessible for everyone despite of their personal limitations. After we covered the food subject the past two weeks, now it is time to take a moment to think about those metalheads among us, who need a different kind of support. We are happy to announce that the Slovenian travel agency ODDIH is organizing a trip to the Metaldays. The agency is specialized in offering holiday trips for mentally and physically disabled people and we are hoping that this will convince some people, that may have been deterred to visit us in the past, to come to the Metaldays this year.

For those of you who are interested or know someone who might be, just contact the agency. All information can be found here: www.oddih.si We are happy about this new opportunity and looking forward to welcome you all in Tolmin!

Culinary variety!

Since the beginning in 2004, it has always been one of our main agendas to establish diversity and variety as one of the central trademarks at Metaldays! The musical range comprises Alcest’s deep shoegaze rock as well as Cattle Decapitation’s sociocritical Death Grind, new artists share the stages with metal legends like Megadeth and furthermore, the festival gathers fans from all around Europe and even the whole world. But this is not, where our diversity agenda ends, this year we even expand it by the (probably) most important festival part at all: FOOD!

A never seen food variety can be found at this year’s Metaldays. First one to mention is the new foodstand for Indian food. Our friends from Maharaja restaurant are offering delicious meals from one of the most exciting cuisines in the world. Carefully chosen ingredients, smart proportioning and ideal cooking sequences make up delicious, exotic and extremely healthy meals. The restaurant itself is managed by the Jham family, who has been running Maharaja for 20 years now. Expertise, excellent taste and appeased hunger guaranteed! Click HERE for the website!

“Exotic” might also be what some Metaldays visitors might think of our next foodstand: the Vegan Food Point! If you ever asked yourselves how people survive without the taste of meat, cheese and milk, here’s your information source. Located at the most exclusive spot at the Metaldays ground, the beach, this booth will provide you with healthy and tasty food made of everything that doesn’t make a sound. In addition to this, every other food point at the festival will offer at least one vegan/vegetarian meal.

“Never change a winning horse” is our mantra when it comes to this next food point. The PIZZA experts and everyone’s darlings from Picerija Krištof will of course be in Tolmin this year as well, providing the fans with their beloved round flat bread á la Italia! But that’s not the end yet, Kristof has more to offer this year:
We finally gave in to the numerous demands for fine Pasta at the Metaldays and so we thought, why not giving this to our Italian in spe, Kristof. If you have a desperate longing for Pasta - Kristof is your man!

Will there be gluten-free meals..?

Yes! You asked for it and you’ll get it! As many of you know, it is an important issue for us, to offer healthy, versatile and of course vegan food to you. This year, we will continue evolving this point, so from 2014 on, every food point will provide at least one gluten free meal. Keep your eyes focused on the Metaldays pages all over the internet: this won’t be the last change you’ll see.

Water is for free!

This goes out to all of our fans, who are commenting on each post, discussing in the forum and posting on our facebook walls: we listen! Yes, you may not believe this, but we are learning, trying to get better and changing for good while letting your ideas and suggestions being heard.

Here is a first, but important, step for this goal: Free water all over the area! This requires some premises of course, as Metaldays happens to take place in a natural reserve. There are, for example, no plastic bottles allowed, so you have to buy a bottle at the bar first, that you can refill all the time and as often as you want at the water points.

We are really excited for this years festival! Just keep commenting and we will get better year by year ;)

Final Line-Up + running order!!!

Time is running! Only two months are left until the Metaldays are taking place and so we are glad to finally have our band line-up completed.
