General festival info - 2024:
About the place:
Månegarm Open Air is located in Norrtälje, Sweden, about 70km north of Stockholm. It takes place at the Pythagoras Industrial Museum inside the city, halfway up a cliff. If you climb to the top, you get a nice view of the festival area and the city.
In 2024, there were two stages, both open air, and inside the museum were bars, merch, vendors, and the meet & greet area. More bars and food vendors, as well as tattoo artists and other vendors, were located outside by the stages. In additin to this, there was one bar specifically for VIP ticket holders.
As it is inside of teh city, there is no camping area connected to the festival, but the city has a general camping area not too far off. There is also one hostel in town, but be aware that this fills up extremely fast. Other options include Air B&B, or finding something in the surrounding cities, including Stockholm, where there is a shuttle bus going to and from occasionally.
About travelling:
We travelled by car, but there are options for train and bus as well. The easiest thing to do here, is to go to Stockholm, and find further transportation from there, as Norrtälje itself is not a major hub for transport. Detailed information can be found at the festival website.
About prices:
Sweden has it's own currency, kronan or SEK, which can be used. There are no ATM's on site, but they can be found around the city. You can also pay with most major cards at the festival.
2024 ticket prices were as follows:
Friday ticket - 375 SEK
Saturday ticket - 545 SEK
2 days ticket - 895 SEK
2 days VIP ticket - 2450 SEK
