Ted Nugent

Magic Circle - 2008

Since we had missed out on the start, the first band for us at the Magic Circle Festival was to be a legend in southern state rock; Ted Nugent.
There were a few people who had come out of the wood-work to see him and his band in action, but there was still plenty of room in front of the stage.

Even though the audience took it all in rather calmly, and the fact that there wasn't much space on the stage, Ted and his band-mates were quite energetic to watch. Ted used all the space he had to run around while playing, and neither was he shy to use a lot of time between songs to speak to the crowd; like when he presented "a little love song" - Wang Dang Sweet Poontang. A little later in the set the classic question about if we had missed him came up, upon which he was answered with a resounding Yeah! To this he just replied; "Bullshit, you just missed the love songs!"
After this it was of course time for the possibly biggest classic that's come out of him. I'm of course talking about Cat Scratch Fever.

Sadly, I have to admit that this show wasn't really for me. With my taste in music, I was not what you would call the target audience, and neither was I too thrilled about the right-wing political comments that snuck their way in once in a while. No, not for me.
