Shadows Fall
KB Hallen, Copenhagen - 2007

First up on The Black Crusade are the Americans in Shadows Fall. Their use of the song Rock You by Helix as an intro really sets the mood for the rest of show. Right from the get go this is all about party, and having a good time.
The only thing I know about Shadows Fall from before, is that they are featured in Guitar Hero 2 with the song The Light That Blinds, so I'm a bit interested in seeing what they're like in person, so to say. I must admit, I'm actually quite blown away! This is much better than I had expected, both music and performance ways. The lead singer, Brian Fair, has an enormous stage presence, and is really the perfect frontman for this type of band. Even though the hall is only about half full at this time, he gets the crowd jumping and screaming. The rest of the band are a bit more calm, but it's ok, since it would probably have been a bit to much if everybody was as active as Brian.
The only negative thing I have to say about this is that I find it a bit embarrassing for the first band of the night to be 20 minutes late, due to technical stage stuff. I don't believe it's the bands fault, so I don't think we can blame them, but this is definitely something that should have been taken care of a lot earlier.
