Ride The Sky

First up as warm-up for Sonata Arctica this evening was Swedish Ride The Sky.
Well, not completely Swedish, since their drummer is none other than German beat-machine Uli Kusch (ex-Helloween, ex-Masterplan), and since their keyboard player has recently left, Henning Ramseth from Norway was standing in on keyboards and second guitar.

Ride The Sky play what I would call traditional power metal. It was not bad, but definitely not special enough catch this listener's ear.
This seemed to become somewhat of a calm and quiet evening, which suited me well, since I was a quite tired. This was the fourth concert this week, after all.
The band seemed a bit tired as well. The song presentations were short, there wasn't very much energy in the performance, and they failed at making a good connection with the audience. This, of course, resulted in the audience mostly standing around, and not adding much energy by themselves.

A note of appreciation has to be given to Uli and Henning, though. These two were the only ones who really seemed to make an effort, and tried to get the show going.
