Pagan's Mind

The Rock, Copenhagen - 2008

It was a cold and dark night in the beginning of March when Brainstorm decided to visit The Rock. With them they had brought Norway's Pagan's Mind, and later on they would also be joined by Powerwolf. But, for now we'll focus on Pagan's Mind.

The lack of audience surprised me somewhat at first, but I reckon it was because the show was placed on a Tuesday. Still, they managed to make quite a racket considering their size.
Neither did the band let the small turn-up affect them, but managed to put on a very engaging show using the simplest of recipes, namely having a good time and also having a sense of humour. It can actually be as easy as that.
Nils K. Rue did a good job as the primary connection with the audience, even though he left the stage a lot during solos and such, in my opinion. He chose to speak his native language, Norwegian, in between songs, which can be a bit of a risk when playing in another country, but it didn't seem to cause anyone any trouble. The rest of the band was of course also doing their part in entertaining us, and it all turned out rather well.

Though short, their set gave us several good songs. It could have been a bit more varied though, seeing as half of the songs were taken from last years release, God's Equation, and their first album, Infinity Divine, was completely left out. Of course, this was probably due to lack of time.

Setlist:

Through Osiris' Eyes
Supremacy, Our Kind
United Alliance
Atomic Firelight
Hallo Spaceboy (David Bowie cover)
Enigmatic Mission
New World Order
Alien Kamikaze
