Mekong Delta

In a single red light Martin LeMar sang a soulful a cappella to start the show of for Mekong Delta from Germany.

The style had now turned towards a more heavy and aggressive direction than what had been played by the two previous bands, Cloudscape and Lanfear, and this helped to pull the audience back in front of the stage. There was also lots of time given to more or less purely instrumental parts, and even a drum-solo had seen fit to sneak in at one point.
Even though the audience had grown, they were taking it rather calm, with only letting fly some well-placed applause between songs. For me, this was an ok show, but having already seen so many good acts here at the ProgPower Scandinavia festival Mekong Delta had a hard time standing out from the crowd.
What made it stick out the most in my opinion was, and he should really be given credit for this, the fact that their guitarist chose to play. Having been in a car accident only two weeks earlier, he had a broken bone in his hand, and this was something that must have been really uncomfortable playing with.
