HolyHell
Magic Circle - 2008

Another day dripping with a bit of rain, and we were set to see Holyhell, a band heavily promoted by Magic Circle Music, and more or less unavoidable to find where Manowar are playing. Of course, it must be a bit of help having one of said bands old members, Rhino, handling the drumkit. Nevertheless, we have actually never had the pleasure of seeing up till this day.
Since we had to wait a long time in line to get something to eat, we had to see a large part of the show from far away.
There were a couple of people who had made it out to see them as well, but the grounds were still far from filled. This did not stop Holyhell from trying their best to give a good show however. The band was lively on stage, just as it should be. This is, after all, a band which more or less started their entire career on the road, so they aught to know which buttons to push so to say. Frontwoman Maria Breon had a good grip on the gathered people, and she displayed the best female vocals I had heard on the entire festival-trip so far.
"I know you know the next two!" she shouted at the end of the show, but I'm sad to say that she was wrong. Actually, I didn't know any of them, but then again I haven't really listened to Holyhell that much. Later I did find out that the last one was their newest release however, called Apocalypse.
The highlight of the show for me was definitely their cover of the classic Dio track, Holy Diver.
