Hardcore Superstar
Metaldays - 2015

Hardcore Superstar was the “almost” headliner of the second to last day of Metaldays, and even though we’ve seen this band at several points in our collective careers, it surprised me to see that we have never reviewed them before. This was about to change…
“I wanna move to this country! Is that ok with you?”
- Joakim ‘Jocke’ Berg (vocals)
One reason why we haven’t reviewed Hardcore Superstar at an earlier point than this, can most likely be credited to the fact that neither of us can stand their music. Spoiler alert – we still can’t.
What I will admit to however, is that they do know how to put on a show, and then some!
From the beginning, the band was going full throttle rock ‘n’ roll, and the fairly large crowd welcomed it with open arms. So far, there hadn’t really been anything quite like this on the stage, and the Metaldays crowd was clearly ready for the change of pace. Practically everybody jumped and danced to the rocking riffs as the night grew darker.
There was no greater response however, than the time where Joakim ‘Jocke’ Berg jumped down into the security pit, only to straddle the fence while singing!
All in all, Hardcore Superstar impressed by being extremely lively and filled to the brim with rock poses, but at the end of the day, it was still not enough to distract this reviewer from the torment by boredom that comes with listening to their music for any extent of time. Sorry if you feel like it took too long a time for us to put something about this group on paper, but we hope you like it, because it will take some time before we’re ready to tread these waters again.
