DragonForce
KB Hallen, Copenhagen - 2007

DragonForce are truly British, you could tell that already from the intro, which consisted of silly jokes and fart-sounds. They were also the only power metal band featured on The Black Crusade, and were therefore in a way the jolly clown act of the show, the complete counterpart of Arch Enemy which were on the stage before them. And it must be said that their handling of this part went far above and beyond the call of duty.
This was by far the liveliest show in The Black Crusade, and in fact among the top of shows I have seen in recent time all in all.
The band went completely bananas, running around, jumping and playing their instruments with their tongues . Strangely, the audience didn't seem too impressed, not compared to their reactions of the two earlier bands. Possibly, they were tired from going amok to the prior shows, or maybe DragonForce was just falling too far outside the general style of the show, I don't know. There were places where they got good reactions though, like when they got lighters and... a magic wand..? swinging in the air during their ballad. Another example was when they announced that the next song would be their Guitar Hero III track, Through The Fire And Flames. This really seemed to please the crowd, which loosened up a lot at this time.
The drawback of this concert was the sound, which was miserably bad, but the fact that they did a show with a capital S certainly weighed up for this flaw.
