Dez Fafara, vocalist of the band DevilDriver was wooing the Slovenian audience with high praise of their beautiful country (a praise I can concur in). He mentioned sitting in the front-seat and taking something in the vicinity of 300 photos on their way to the festival, and that he couldn’t believe that they hadn’t been here earlier, something which the fans seemed to concur with.

DevilDriver’s hit song, Clouds Over California, kicked up a storm in the crowd, and a well sized circlepit as well. It seemed there were no holds barred at this concert; there was jumping, headbanging and pits all over the place, constantly wreaking havoc to the furious beat of the music.
The band wasn’t exactly holding back either, the action was almost as intense on the stage as off, and this in turn helped spur even more positive aggression in the crowd, and at one time there was a most impressive combo of a circle pit and wall of death. The split in the wall of death reached all the way from the stage back to the soundtower, making it the largest on I had seen, at least at this festival, ever.
Need I mention that the air was constantly filled with crowd-surfers as well? DevilDriver was providing one hell of a ride, that’s for sure!

“We’re going song to song!”
- Dez Fafara (vocals)

DevilDriver was, as mentioned by Fafara, pressing as much music as possible into their stage-time, but this relentless playing didn’t mean they couldn’t have a bit of fun as well from time to time.
Still, the intensity was constant, and the crowd, which had grown quite a bit since the last band, didn’t let up through the entire show.
This was clearly another win for these Americans, and the only regret was that they couldn’t stay longer; on the other hand, with the speed the fans were going, we could have had a few serious injuries (whiplashes etc.) on our hands if they hadn’t stopped when they did…
