Burning Starr

Magic Circle - 2008

Burning Starr, or Jack Starr's Burning Starr, was the second band we saw on the Friday of the Magic Circle Festival, and it is, as implied by the name, a band headed by guitarist Jack Starr. Some of you might know him from his time in Virgin Steele, although I did not (maybe I'm not old enough, maybe I've just been into other stuff...)
Burning Starr was this day, except for its regular participants visited by Lars Ramcke and Alex Guth on guitars. They were both, of course, on loan from Stormwarrior who had played as the band right before Burning Starr.

For those of you who didn't know of him from before, the style, in my ears, was something of a classic 80ies melodic metal, and there were even a few Virgin Steele covers who crept in to join the set, like Go Down Fighting.
The band was enjoying themselves on stage, that much apparent, although because of the style of the music I was never really caught by it.
The crowd wasn't huge, but then again, practically the only band that gathered all the visitors was Manowar, so it probably doesn't mean anything.

Ultimately I would say that, even though it was rather lively, the show was not good enough to make me forget that this wasn't to my taste.
Also, we weren't able to see the show to an end, since we had to leave for Manowar's big press-conference.
