Bullet

Metaltown - 2009

Even though they had the ungrateful lot to play at the same time as headliners Slipknot, Bullet had still managed to gather a crowd of true metal fans of the old school.

“Bullet is back in town!”
- Dag 'Hell' Hofer (vocals)

Bullet were playing in the Close-Up Tältet tent stage, and were in fact the only band we saw on this stage.
This wasn’t a problem in any way though; I prefer seeing this band on a smaller stage where I can get a bit closer, and get more of an intimate feel for the show. And it would seem I wasn’t the only one, all around me were people rocking, dancing or simply headbanging along to the heavy tunes. Bullet’s music and concept is so simple it borders on the naive and yet, or maybe because of this, it is so grand!

I could write page up and down about what a party extraordinaire it is to watch these young Swedes unfold on stage; but I’m not going to. Anyone who has read the other reviews I’ve written about Bullet knows what a love I feel for this fabulous retro act, and that they never fail to amaze me. This night was no exception, and it certainly goes down as one of the most memorable moments of the festival.

Oh, and did I mention that ‘Hell’ Hofer dedicated their entire show to the memory of Michael Jackson?
