I told you Abbath would be back, and here he is! Without the corpse-paint, mind you, but with a bass in hand, and a cowboy hat on his head.
Yes, it was time for Bömbers, the Norwegian black metal all-star league of Motörhead coverers!

“We are Bömbers, and we play rock ‘n’ roll too! You know, just like the mighty Motörhead!”
- Olve ‘Abbath Doom Occulta’ Eikemo (vocals/bass)

Bömbers delivered the absolutely final finale for the Copenhell festival anno 2016. The Helvíti stage had already been closed down by Black Sabbath, and the Hades stage had been closed down by Red Warszawa, and now it was time for Bömbers to close down the Pandæmonium stage.
Since there wasn’t really anything else to do at this late hour, and because many festival guests weren’t ready to give up on the festival yet, and of course because this seemed like a genuinely fun idea, there was a very large crowd gathered in front of the festivals smallest stage at 1 in the night, when the band was ready to go on.
And on they went, and they dived straight into Bomber, the most obvious choice they could have gone with, but at the same time the most fitting one.

The band was full of energy, and it was good to see that Abbath had saved up a bit of crab walking for this show as well. He was doing a pretty darned decent impersonation of Lemmy as well, I must give him that.
Now, I’ve never been a Motörhead fan myself, and that is probably the biggest problem with putting me up to reviewing a Motörhead cover band, but the fact that they even do this thing, and has been doing for 20 fucking years now, is pretty darned impressive!
And they were entertaining. All three of them delivered it on the stage, and Abbath was talking and cracking jokes between songs. Sure, he was slurring worse than drunken homeless insaneiac, but I feel certain there was a core of good-hearted fun in there.
As did the crowd, which loved every minute of this. Shouting, singing, headbanging, it was all here, even though people shouldn’t be physically able to stand straight at this point. But they were, and what a party it was.

And, you know. Abbath was impersonating Lemmy. Just stop and think about that for a while.
Really, there’s nothing more than that to add, we might as well just end it here. Copenhell was over for another year, and it had gone out in style. A warm-hearted, fun-loving style.
