Alice Cooper
Magic Circle - 2008

This was the second time for me to see Alice Cooper, and I'm sad to say that the last time around I wasn't too impressed. Then again, I believe I was pretty tired that time, and I was also standing very far away from the stage so I couldn't really see what was going on.
This was no problem here at the Magic Circle Festival though, as the crowd was smaller than at the other place, and I had no problem getting into the first line, even though the crowd was much bigger for Alice Cooper's show than it had been for Ted Nugent who played before him.
For some reason they were playing Alice Cooper songs over the p.a. system between bands, and this resulted in me missing the start of the show, since I was not quite aware of the change between recorded songs and the real deal. No matter, as soon as I got my attention in the right direction, I was treated to a spectacular show, just the way I had imagined how an Alice Cooper show should be. Far better than last time around.
The band members were a very lively bunch, which was great to see. A fear had been that this might be all about Alice, and the rest would just be extras in the background, but this was certainly not the case here. Of course, Alice was in a good mood as well, and also did his part to give us a great show.
A big part of the show was, as it should be, all the theatrical parts put in. It mostly started some way in to the concert though, first of with Welcome To My Nightmare, but then it kept on for the rest of the evening.
The only negative thing here was, and it's my own responsibility I know, that I didn't know many of the songs. A lot of the classics were played, but much of the newer material was unknown to me.
Setlist (incomplete):
No More Mr. Nice Guy
Under My Wheels
Lost In America
Feed My Frankenstein
Welcome To My Nightmare
I Love The Dead
School's Out
Poison
Elected
